Applications Engineer I (ENG12001)
Entry level engineer to assist in the applications engineering of discrete and MMIC RF and Microwave products on Nitronex’s unique GaN-on-Silicon process. This position will drive the post-production applications development of MMICs and high power discrete devices spanning from UHF to X-Band.
Relevant RF industry experience and a desire to work in a fast paced, startup environment.
Grade ** Exempt
RF Applications support for production released products.
RF Application board design, layout and test.
Interface with customers to support design wins and assist in troubleshooting via lab testing or simulation.
Routinely follow ISO9001quality standards ensuring that customer satisfaction and quality expectations are attained throughout the process.
Perform other duties as assigned to insure the success of projects, individuals, and the company.
Will require hands on approach to solving problems including working in the lab to help debug test issues and performing RF testing.
Operated high power RF/microwave test bench for power amplifier products, post-process data and write up test reports.
Support current released Nitronex application boards and modifies designs for customer needs.
Familiarity with PCB layout tools and techniques.
Familiarity with a microwave simulator such as Microwave Office (MWO) or Agilent’s Advanced Design Systems (ADS) is a plus.
Familiarity with RF Power Amplifier device level design.
Monitor quality, service, and delivery issues, and take corrective actions as needed.
Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough. A versatile, self-starter with a positive attitude, who is cautiously assertive and eager to cooperate with others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills needed to communicate daily with multiple Company personnel to accomplish work with an exceptionally high level of commitment.
Four-year college degree in electrical engineering with experience as a co-op or through coursework/Sr. design project in RF, microwave, or semiconductor disciplines.
Alternatively, possess an MSEE with relevant coursework/thesis in RF and Wireless design.
Reports to the RF Design Manager and interfaces internally with engineering department, Production and Sales and Marketing departments, and externally with customers and subcontractors.
