Description:
This position will be responsible for the testing of GaN-on-silicon based microwave discrete components at frequencies up to 18 GHz. These tests will include small signal s-parameters, noise figure, and high power tests exceeding 300W. In addition to RF tests, the candidate should be able to carry out standard dc tests, such as FET IV and diode characteristics. Additional responsibilities include the design and tuning of high power test fixtures, assembly of test setups, pc board layout, fixture assembly, and equipment maintenance. In this position, the candidate will interface and work with operations, product development and reliability teams.
Essential Capabilities:
- Experience with Autocad in laying out PC boards, soldering test fixtures, and tuning them for high power performance
- Experience with laboratory microwave test equipment, including wafer probers and load-pull systems and writing test procedures; experience on Focus Microwaves Load Pull System a PREFERRED
- Experience on S parameter calibration techniques such as SOLT and TRL and measuring S parameter up to 18GHz on wafer and at discrete component level
Requirements:

Associate Degree (or equivalent)

Practical experience with discrete power devices and power amplifiers for at least 5 years

U. S. citizenship or Permanent Resident status

Data analysis and curve plotting using software such as Microsoft Excel

Understanding of power amplifiers and concepts such as linearity (IMD3, harmonics, EVM, ACPR), compression, efficiency, gain, return loss, and output mismatch
